Pastor Steve Fischer
I started full time ministry in 2008, serving as a student ministry pastor before taking on the role of Lead Pastor at Anchor Church. After studying at Nyack College, I spent 11 years in New Jersey serving before moving back to Toledo, the city I grew up in, where I led the student ministry at Westgate Chapel for six years. In October 2024, after the planting pastor of Anchor transitioned out, I stepped into this new role. My passion is helping people truly understand their faith and grow in their relationship with Jesus. I love making the Bible accessible so that people can understand who God is and what that means for their lives. Ephesians 4:11-13 shapes my approach to ministry—I believe my role as a pastor is to equip and empower others to step into what God is calling them to do.
My wife, Melissa, and I have been married since 2009, and we have two awesome kids, Prescott and Coby. When I’m not at church, you can usually find me playing basketball, enjoying board games, or spending time with my family.
Psalm 34:4 — “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears” —has been a verse I have leaned on in ministry and in life. It reminds me that God isn’t distant, He hasn’t forgotten us, and when we call on Him, He will answer.
